What skills do you coaches feel are most important to teach kids at the youth level?

As I am helping my 13 year old daughter through her basketball journey that she began in January of 2023 and watching her play AAU (regional travel ball).

These are the things that I see as crucial to teach these kids:

  1. Decision Making (What is a good pass, good shot etc.)

  2. Foot Skills, (POOP) Pivot out of pressure

  3. Ball Handling versus pressure, valuing the dribble don’t just dribble to dribble

  4. Shooting mechanics

As you know I have hosted clinics on various topics

If you are looking for ways to help with the things above then check out the skill development clinics we have in the System Basketball Community
